One month from today, I leave for San Diego to attend Camp Widow, a weekend long gathering of widows from around the world. This is the second annual widows conference sponsored by the Soaring Spirits Loss Foundation. You can learn more about it by clicking here.
Aside from the fact that I have to get on an airplane (I hate to fly), I am super excited about this trip. It will be a great opportunity to actually meet a lot of other widows who I have connected with online. The weekend will be packed full of activities including workshops, an awards banquet and a 5k walk/run in honor of our spouses. And it is held in beautiful San Diego!
I will be attending the conference with my friend, Laura, who lives in my neighborhood and lost her husband last August. She has two young boys and is also a stay-at-home mom so we have a lot in common (some things we'd rather not). We are heading to San Diego early so we can spend two days checking out the city (if anyone has suggestions of places to see, let me know).
The countdown is on. San Diego, here we come!
